Our approach

The APRIL Foundation works to promote sustainable and accessible health for all, drawing on a holistic and innovative approach to prevention.

Convinced that health-related behaviours evolve through knowledge, experimentation, evaluation and sharing, we structure our actions around four complementary pillars.

#Understanding

The APRIL Foundation works to identify and define societal health issues by conducting or funding research, studies, observatories, publications and more, focusing on the obstacles and drivers affecting people’s capacity to change lifestyle habits and/or behaviours in order to stay healthy or boost their health capital.

#Taking action

Bringing about lasting change in health-related behaviours, by conducting or supporting “learning” experiments and other project-based initiatives developed by associations, foundations, public-interest or non-profit organisations as well as higher education and research institutions.

Taking action also means supporting or designing practical pathways to change (such as collective workshops, experimental initiatives and testimonials) and mobilising employees, with the APRIL Group providing a space for experimentation, learning, modelling and tool development.

#Evaluating

Strengthening the effectiveness of health promotion and prevention methods by conducting objective, quantifiable assessments of their impact, looking at their results in terms of behavioural change and sharing insights into the most effective practices, as well as recommendations and even models.

#Informing

Forging new approaches to health promotion and prevention through the production and dissemination of content, including publications, conferences, educational resources and training programmes. These materials are intended for prevention stakeholders, healthcare professionals and institutions, as well as for actors working closest to citizens in everyday settings such as places of living, learning and working.
